Now you know your answer as to why your analog channel is going to tune off soon. It is the ultra hi-def technology that have been at the works since 2002.
I do not have Hi-def television at home and I do have a 15" HD notebook that does very well when I view my news and movies. I decided against a Hi-def television, but I was considering on a projector. Then, I stumbled upon on an article on BBC about Super Hi-vision technology from Japan.
About the format: The new format with a resolution of 7,680 × 4,320 pixels is four times as wide and four times as high (for a total of 16 times the pixel resolution) as existing HDTV, which has a maximum resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels.
BBC of Britain, Italy and Japan are piloting the technology in the experimental stages.
