In this increasingly dangerous world, we could only cover so much issues that we deemed to care about. Only when Pope Bendict spoken on Sunday about Koreans that were being held in the hands of the Taliban, I do not know what most of you will think of? There were also disturbing images of the women looking emotionless or rather weak in health. As any religious persons, they will band together and pray for the safety of the remaining Korean women be in the safe return back to their home country of South Korea. The coverage of this news in North American media is dismal. The hope dwindled as each day passed by, as each of the media covered this report. Unlike the British, Italian, Canadian and more hostages cases of the past, we did not see enough unity of the people in the world to assist the release of the Korean missionaries. They are as human beings and as important as any other groups of people that we know all over the world. Are we becoming more desensitized to the news that does not relate to our own world? Do we need to take some balance to look around us and see how fortunate that we are in the world of safety.
