Yes, Obama promised his children that they may have a rescue puppy. Puppies and dogs are pretty much around since George Washington. We would not forget the cats, ferrets and others. George Washington had Samson, Steady, Leonidas, Traveller, Magnolia and other stallions. Nelson and Blueskin, horses used during the Revolution, and a Horse given to Washington by Gen. Braddock. Drunkard, Mopsey, Taster, Cloe, Tipsy, Tipler, Forester, Captain, Lady Rover, Vulcan, Sweetlips, and Searcher, all hounds; and five French hounds. Rozinante, Nellie Custis' horse, and a Parrot belonged to Mrs. Martha Washington.
